When a no-heat call is genuinely an emergency
Not every furnace fault needs a middle-of-the-night visit. These situations usually do, especially during a cold snap or lake-effect event:
- The furnace produces no heat at all and indoor temperature is falling steadily.

Protecting the house while you wait
- Close off unused rooms and keep interior doors to occupied rooms open.
- Open cabinet doors under kitchen and bath sinks on exterior walls.

- Close blinds and curtains at night, open south-facing ones during daylight.
